He is a Vice Chancellor of National University of Study and Research in Law Ranchi, Jharkhand since June 2023 on deputation from NLSIU, Bangalore.  He was practiced before Trial Court and High Court of Karnataka for two years before joining for teaching. He has 27 years teaching experience. He Joined National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore in August 2008 as a Chair Professor of Chair on Consumer Law & Practice of which was established by Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. He has been teaching ADR for UG and PG students. He has undergone Mediation training from IIAM, Kochi and become accredited mediator and empaneled by National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) New Delhi. He launched state of Art ‘Online Consumer Mediation Centre’ at NLSIU in 2016 under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, GoI and it was recognized by Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India New Delhi. He was actively involved in drafting of Consumer Protection Act, 2019, Rules and Regulations specially on Mediation.

Published more than 8 articles in International Journal; more than 42 articles in National Journal; Published more than six books. Visited more than 15 countries & presented research papers. Presented more than 30 papers at the international and 58 at National level Conference Seminars. Organized more than 76 training programs/workshops for Non-Governmental Organization, consumer forum presidents, members, Government & Private Lawyers, consumer club teachers and others. He has given many programs in TV and Radio. He is a Chief-Editor of ‘International Journal on Consumer Law & Practice’ (SCOPUS and UGC CARE). He had NCC "C" Certificate and NSS Certificate.

He has got many Awards and Fellowships i.e. Received Asian Law Institute’s Fellowship in 2010 (ASLI) and visited National University of Singapore for research in Consumer Protection Issues; Received the prestigious National Award “Legal Education Innovation Award-2013” awarded by Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) and Menon Institute for Legal Advocacy and Training (MILAT) (Prof. Madhava Menon); As a Faculty Coordinator to Legal Service Clinic received ‘International Mac Jannet Award’ in 2014 at Cape Town, South Africa; University Grants Commission’s FIP Fellowship; Received Endeavour Leadership Programme (ELP) Fellowship from University of Western Australia (UWA) Law School, Australia, 2019.

Successfully completed project on “Effective Implementation of Online Consumer Dispute Resolution through Mediation” sponsored by Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, New Delhi 2018-19;  Submitted of views on Designing the Future of Dispute Resolution: The ODR Policy Plan for India, to OSD, NITI AAYOG, Government of India; Launched ‘Conflict Management Through Mediation’ from 2023 under National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL/Swayam); Successfully completed 40 Hours Mediation Training program with International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ICADR) New Delhi;

He was a Member of Inter-Governmental Group of Experts, Working group on modalities of UNCTAD voluntary peer review exercises on Consumer Protection and Electronic Commerce, 2021; Life–time Member, International Academy of Financial Consumers (IAFICO), Seoul.
